Testing web sites in Internet Explorer on Mac

You may be wondering, but testing your web layouts in Internet Explorer is not impossible on Mac and Mac OS. You can use ies4mac, a program that allows you to install different versions of Internet Explorer on your Mac.

It’s really eazy. Everything you have to care about is to install Darwine, project similar to Wine from GNU/Linux, which ies4mac application requires. Then you can feel free to install several versions of Internet Explorer via ies4mac.

Sounds nice, doesn’t it? Yep, but there are two “but”. Firstly ies4mac does not support IE 7 yet and secondly running IE this way is quite slow. So if possible use virtualization of Windows with VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop for Mac instead.

Both Darwin and ies4mac could be downloaded on their download page.
